Who is General Assembly?

General Assembly is a leader in training, staffing and career transformation that specializes in educating individuals and companies in today’s most in-demand skills. It began as a co-working space in 2011 and has expanded into campuses in 20 cities and has over 35,000 graduates worldwide. General Assembly also has over 250 expert instructors and over 2,500 hiring partners!

The education they provide allows professionals struggling to compete in an increasingly technological economy to close the global skills gap.

What Does the Training Involve?

General Assembly’s curriculum is created by expert instructional designers, and it provides current, relevant and applicable coursework. Their technical education covers both hard and soft skills that enables students to reach their full potential and pursue tech-related careers. They use the latest technological tools to provide students with a mix of engaging online and offline experiences.

Individual training consists of building vital skills, networking, and boosting portfolios. Company training includes creating partnerships with Fortune 1000 companies, customized staff training and building a dedicated hiring pipeline to acquire GA alumni. The in-demand fields they specialize in are coding, UX and design, data, business, marketing and career development.

They have locations in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia! They provide both full-time and part-time courses as well as self-paced courses, classes, workshops, and events. In addition to training, students receive career search support from career coaches.

GA participants are very diverse. They include LGBTQ+ individuals, single parents, new Americans, refugees, veterans and people with disabilities. Their 50% of their social impact students are women, 77% are nonwhite and 100% are unemployed or underemployed. GA’s participants share a passion for learning and are ready to transform their career.
